How much does a good wedding band cost?
We feel that not any band is good enough to do weddings. We absolutely don't send bar bands to perform at weddings. They just can't cut it. They don't have the style and elegance and music selections to do a wedding reception any justice. Our wedding bands start at around $2,500 for 4 hours and go up from there.

What are the pros and cons of a DJ versus a live band?
DJ - First, the DJ is versatile, he can play a James Brown tune and then go into a swing number by Glenn Miller. Secondly, the DJ is less expensive than a band.
Thirdly, a DJ can play one song in english then another in spanish or arabic or any other language. Band - First, the band is exciting, how many weddings that you went to this year had a band? How was your reaction when you heard that there was going to be a band playing? EXACTLY - you were excited to hear the news! Secondly, a really great band will make you look like a million bucks! You will dance and dance to live music all night long. Think about it for a moment. When you watch a movie and there is a wedding taking place, there is usually a band playing and not a DJ. Even a television show about weddings usually will showcase a band. Why? Because it's a status thing or something in America to have a band versus a DJ.

How much is it for the band to travel to Sacramento or Monterey?
Travel will vary from band to band, however, a good rule of thumb is to calculate the number of miles (one-way) and then multiply it by the number of people in the band or group. For example from Atlanta to Macon is approximately 70 miles one way and say the band has six members. That would be about $300 for travel costs. Remember that is not the definitive answer, but it gives you (the client) a good idea how much travel will run you.
