How much does a DJ cost to play at my wedding?
Well, generally speaking most of the wedding DJs go out for $150 per hour with a 4 hr minimum. These are wedding DJs who have done many weddings for A Classy Affair Entertainment. We will work with you to meet your budget. Give us a call for a quote.

Can I get a discount because my event is on a Friday or Sunday?
Yes! You may receive a discount based upon the amount of traffic we generally receive with regards to the day of the week and the month. December is a corporate party month and we have more business than we have DJs. So in December we really do not discount very much at all. Saturdays are the busiest days of the week. Fridays, however, are not as busy so we are open to giving you a good discount. On Sundays it depends on a number of factors, for example a Sunday in March might be slower than a Sunday in December.

What if I'm on a budget, can I get someone (DJ) cheaper?
Yes, the price reflects the DJs ability, skill level and experience. The saying is true "You get what you pay for." However, if you just need music and are willing to compromise a professional DJ in a tux for a guy in a shirt and tie; or a DJ who is smooth on the microphone vs. a DJ who may not have the ability to make announcements or introductions very well then you have the option of choosing a DJ for less money. But remember, if you pay less most likely you will get less - that's the way most businesses are run.

Can you guarantee that the DJ will be on time?
Yes we give our guarantee that the DJ will be on time to your event. All DJs are required under written contract to arrive at least 1 (one) hour prior to start time.

I don't feel that I need the DJ to play music during the dinner or cocktail hour and I want to save money and have him show up and play music when the dancing starts, is that ok?
Yes, however, we feel that it is in your best interest to have the DJ show up before your guests arrive. Why? because the last thing that your guests expect to see is a DJ on his knees in jeans taping up his cords or testing the microphone. Also keep in mind, that your DJ will arrive exactly one hour prior to start time. This is fine if there is a rear entrance leading directly to the DJ area. However, if the DJ has to roll his equipment in with a hand truck and bump into your guests while they sip on their Merlot or Martinis, it makes for a poor and cheap statement about (us) and the person who is throwing the party (you). Many times we will turn down jobs because of these tough situations. Also keep in mind, there will be no music played so it will be drab and boring and very noisy like a cafeteria. There will be no microphone to say a welcoming message or a toast.

Why can't the DJ just arive early to set up and not get paid until he starts the music for dancing?
It doesn't work quite that way. The DJs time is important to him, just like your time is important to you. So, therefore the client must pay for the extra time outside the normal one (1) hour set up time he is normally allotted. This "waiting around" time is usually less than a "performance time" hourly rate.
